Melvinas Priananda
Executive Director

He has worked as a photojournalist in the media for more than ten years and was once trusted to be the Chair of the Indonesian Photojournalist – Pekanbaru. His photographic works have been published both nationally and internationally as well as in international non-profit organizations. Apart from taking pictures, he also often writes articles, especially those related to the environment and socio-culture.

He is an alumnus of the Science Journalism COOperation (SjCOOP) Asia program created by the World Federation of Science Journalists which focuses on developing the quality of science journalists in various countries. And then became one of the founding members of the Society of Indonesian Science Journalists (SISJ).

Dhana Kencana
Secretary General

Dhana Kencana works for IDN Times. He is an editorial staff member as well as a journalist, photographer, and videographer. He has won a number of Indonesian journalism awards, and he also provides training and speaks at workshops and other events on photography, video, and journalism. He published a personal photo book — 024 021 — in 2018.

Treasurer SISJ, Irmawati Puan Mawar

Irmawati Puan Mawar
Treasurer

is a freelance science journalist based in Makassar, South Sulawesi. Most of her journalistic works have been appeared in Tempo, a national outlet known for its excellence in investigative journalism. Journalism aside, Imhe enjoys literary works. She is also the alumnus of Science Journalism Cooperation (SjCOOP) Asia. Imhe gained her science degree from Department of Mathematics Education in Hasanudin University.

Kharishar Kahfi

Kharishar Kahfi

Kharishar Kahfi, or Kuka, is a science journalist. He was a reporter and deputy editor at The Jakarta Post, where he reported and wrote on environment and science issues.
He is currently pursuing a Master’s degree at New York University’s Science, Health, and Environmental Reporting Program.

Rezza Aji Pratama
Koordinator Program

Rezza is a journalist working as an Editor at Katadata Indonesia. He started his career 10 years ago as an economic journalist and recently he established his interest in science and environmental issues, focusing on how both intersect with a business perspective.

Irma Tambunan
Advisor/Founder

Irma has been working as a journalist for the last 15 years. Since 2004, she has worked at Indonesian KOMPAS Daily, specialized in environmental issues. She attended some science fellowships such as the Environmental Reporting Fellowship in 2012 held by GIZ-Germany, and SjCOOP Asia Fellowship for the Young Science Journalists, from 2013 to 2014, supporting by the World Federation of Science Journalists (WFSJ).

Her reports on some environment issues received some award, such as the 1st Winner of Ministry of Environment Media Award Prize (2013), “Jurnalis Inspiratif” from National Board Kepala for Disaster Management (2019), and “Jurnalis Lingkungan dan Konservasi Satwa” from KSDAE KLHK (2020).
